For many years, SSML has been using the Moodle learning platform, a practical and intuitive teaching support tool that allows students to have direct contact with their lecturers and to have access to all the material they need to follow the lessons and prepare for the exams. Through the platform, students can:
- have access to their courses and download the material used in class
- use public forums to communicate with lecturers and other students
- hand in tests and exercises for assessment
- prepare for future lessons and group activities
- receive direct communication from teaching ad administrative staff
- have access to the material used during the courses
- keeping up to date with all the activities carried out from week to week, even when students
cannot attend, as in the case of Erasmus students.
Student Intranet
All students enrolled in the degree course in Language Mediation can access the intranet to monitor their status. Using this practical tool, students can:
- have access to all the information including personal data, study programme and career
report - check their updated attendance record for each course, the exams thy have taken and the
respective marks - have an overview of their fee payment status.
Accommodation
Our administrative staff can help you find the right accommodation by providing you with all the necessary information. You can choose from different types of accommodation:
- “Affitto sicuro” (host families or independent apartments). Our school has developed a list of private accommodation nearby our university. The houses are run by trustworthy landlords who have been renting to our students for years. Rooms are rented for periods of no less than one month. Prices per person per month range from 180.00 to 250.00 Euro, depending on the type of room (single or shared).
- San Filippo Neri student halls of residence is located in the heart of the old town of Perugia and is easily accessible from the University, only two Minimetrò stops away (the local transport service). It offers reduced rates for our students. It has single and double rooms, shared kitchen, washing machine, room and bathroom cleaning, Wi-Fi and a concierge service.
- A.Di.S.U housing services. The Agenzia per il diritto allo Studio dell’Umbria (The Right to Education Agency of Umbria ) allocates beds to off-campus students in directly managed university halls of residence and in private accommodations. Students can access by applying in accordance with the terms of the call for applications which is published every year.
Refectory service
We provide students with a dining hall where they can eat their meals. On days when classes are held, you can use a catering service which delivers hot food orders at break time. If you prefer to bring your own meal, you can leave it in the refectory where our staff will heat it up for lunchtime.
Sport activities
Students can join the University of Perugia’s University Sports Centre (CUS). Joining requires payment of an annual membership fee, two passport photos, a medical certificate of good health and a certificate of enrolment in one of our degree courses/the SSML for the current year.
