Claudio Brancaleoni graduated in Literature from the University of Perugia, from where he also obtained a PhD in Italian Studies. He is mainly interested in modern and contemporary Italian literature and he has studied and published works on experimentalism and the literary avant-garde; specifically on the relationship between literature and conflicts/literature and political commitment/literature and work and on war memoirs. He currently teaches Italian language and literature in high schools and at the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici in Perugia. He also works as an assistant in Italian Literature at the Department of Ancient, Modern and Comparative Languages and Literature at the University of Perugia.

Roberta Ceccotti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistic Mediation from the School for Linguistic Mediators of Perugia (languages: English, French and Spanish).
She then continued her studies at the SSLMIT in Trieste, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Literary and Technical-Scientific Translation with a grade of 110 cum laude (Distinction).
She works as a freelance translator for many translation agencies, dealing especially with localization and fashion. Since December 2017, she has been working with the Italian publishing group Mondadori, for which she has so far translated several comic books.

I am Rita de Moura, I am Brazilian and and I have been working as a Portuguese teacher for almost 20 years.
I am specialised in didactics and teaching methodology and have a professional background in Portuguese and Brazilian literature, translation and learning assessment methods. I have worked in different schools and educational settings with different types of students and in many varied and stimulating environments:

  • interpreter for the Public Prosecutor’s office in the penitentiary of Perugia;
  • Dialogue interpreting BRA/ITA;
  • Conference interpreting between Portugal and Italy;
  • Teacher at the Italian Army Foreign Languages School (SLEE) in Perugia, Rome and Gaeta;
  • Translator for public and private companies.

Masako Hasegawa has more than fifteen years of experience in teaching Japanese, she has worked for language schools and private institutions.
She teaches Japanese Language and Culture, which she constantly improves through her studies and interest in the general culture.

Lorenzo Lanari is an interpreter and a translator. He completed his studies at the Libera Università SPIO V in Rome (now known as UNINT).
He is a lecturer in translation (from Spanish into Italian) at the SSML of Perugia.
From 2007 to 2014 he worked during the summer as an Italian teacher for foreign students at the Urbaniana University of Rome; for 4 years (from 2014 to 2018) he was director of the BA programme at the SSML of Perugia.
He has published many articles and presentations on different topics about Spanish language.
He holds a Master’s degree in Investigación en Lengua Española from the Complutense University of Madrid and is a PhD student at the Faculty of Translation at the University of Malaga.
In 2019, he returned to Umbria, where in addition to teaching, he serves as Director of Studies of the Bachelor’s degree programme at SSML Perugia.

I was born in Finland and have British citizenship.
I studied and worked in London for 15 years before moving to Italy. In London I taught English as a second language. Since coming to Italy in 2014, I’ve been teaching English as a foreign language to children and adults for several language schools, public schools and a private school.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Swahili and Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and a Master’s degree in African Literature from the Institute of English Studies, University of London. After my Master’s degree, I obtained several certificates for teaching English as a second language, including the CELTA. In 2018, I returned to Finland to study English language and linguistics and translation at the University of Turku. I work as an English teacher and as a translator from Italian, Finnish and Swedish into English in the tourism, chemical industry and journalism fields.
At the SSML I teach translation from Italian into English to the second year students.

I have more than thirty years of experience in training university students in Japan (Nagasaki University), in the United States (Community College of Denver) and in Italy (Istituto Universitario di Mediazione Linguistica).
I am a specialist trainer of teachers of English as a foreign language, with both online and in-person courses.
I have published and presented research papers on academic writing and learner autonomy at international conferences.

I am an interpreter and translator with a degree from the Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori (Advanced School for Interpreters and Translators) in Forlì, I have been working in-house and freelance since 1998, offering translation services from English, Russian and Ukrainian into Italian and
linguistic and interpreting assistance during visits by foreign delegations and at trade fairs.
Over the years, I have broadened my professional skills, specialising in legal, economic, commercial, technical, website translation and localisation, DTP, layout and certified translations.
Since October 2017, I have been teaching at the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici of Perugia and the Università per Stranieri of Perugia.

Immediately after completing my university studies, I spent about seven years in England teaching Italian as a foreign language to adult students in schools and companies. When I returned to Italy, I decided to use my experience abroad and my language skills to work in the business world, dealing with relations with foreign markets (USA, Japan, China, Middle East) for three different Umbrian
fashion companies. After 10 years, I returned to teaching and currently work at the the SSML of Perugia, where I teach English Language and Culture and English into Italian Dialogue Interpreting courses.
