Events and seminars
Each year, we organise a series of events to encourage students to broaden their knowledge and gain new cultural stimuli and ideas for their dissertations.
Previous events included:
- Porte aperte A.I.T.I. (Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters) where 3rd year
students were introduced to the profession. - Seminar on machine translation and post-editing held by Professor Gaspari of the Dante
Alighieri University for Foreigners. - 2nd International Day of Hispanic Studies with speakers from the Universities of Macerata, Roma Tre and the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid.
- Meeting with Claudio Magris “On Translating”.
- Seminar on Localisation: profiles, processes and tools held by Dr Sara Martellini, an established professional currently Senior Translator (free vendor) for Facebook Ltd. and a former student of our Bachelor’s degree course.
- Ten-hour seminar on Number Management in Simultaneous Interpreting. It was held as part of the Introduction to Conference Interpreting course (EN>IT) and was the result of research carried out by Francesca Frittella, a former student of our University, whose dissertation was then chosen for publication by Europa Edizioni (Feltrinelli Group).
- “Proporre e Proporsi” seminar which is held every year particularly appreciated by the students as it promotes entry into the world of work.
